Next Stop... Charleston!
{Charleston, South Carolina Trip Recap} After we checked out of the Thunderbird Inn in Savannah, we made our way to Charleston, South Carolina. It took us about 2 hours to get there, including getting pulled over for speeding... whoops! We booked a room at the Town & Country Inn and Suites in West Ashley , which was only 6 miles away from the historic district. It was almost impossible to find a room for less than $200 per night this week, but we scored a great deal with this one! The room was beautifully updated and super clean!! I would definitely recommend staying here on your visit to Charleston. We also got two $15 food and beverage vouchers for each night we had booked. DAY ONE We got into Charleston around lunchtime. We were starving, so we stopped at Persimmon Cafe . This cute little restaurant was inside a laundromat, which didn't help us cool off any... I ordered the adult grilled cheese and it had smoked gouda, cheddar, prosciutto, and apple slices. So delici
